2019 American Heart Assoc. Arkansas Survivor Unveiling
In addition to supporting my platform, the International Pageant systems platform is very close to me. The American Heart Association and the Go Red for Women Movement are very important to all women and choosing to take action now against heart disease can mean life or death in the future. Personally, I have an aunt and step-grandmother battling heart disease as I type this. I lost my grandmother my senior year of high school after she suffered a stroke. This is real and it's time we take a stand against it. Around 80% of cardiac events can be prevented and it's our job to take those steps to prevent them. I know I am, and I hope you will too. Together, we can end heart disease being the #1 killer of women and living a longer, healthier life.
January 31, 2019, was the unveiling of the 2019 Arkansas Survivor Gallery and the official kick off to Heart Month. I was honored to be invited to attend along with the Arkansas International titleholders and local titleholders. It was a very moving ceremony with women of all ages being recognized. The youngest survivor was only two and she is still fighting. Tomorrow is national wear red day in support of the American Heart Associations Go Red for Women Movement and the kick off of heart month, so show your support and wear red.
